Winter Maternity Session at NCMA

On a warm, cloudy “winter” day, the North Carolina Museum of Art did not disappoint. The outdoor park at NCMA is one of my favorite locations in Raleigh for photography — and for good reason. The open fields, soft light, and peaceful walking paths create the perfect setting for relaxed sessions. The NCMA is especially great for maternity photos because it offers so much variety without needing to walk far. We can move between grassy fields, tree-lined paths, and open sky views while keeping the session comfortable and easy for expecting parents.

This recent maternity session at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh was such a sweet one. The evening light was soft and golden, and the museum grounds gave us a mix of natural scenery and clean, timeless backdrops that let the focus stay on this exciting season of life.

Maternity sessions are always special because they capture a moment that passes so quickly. Photographing these moments allows families to look back and remember what this chapter felt like before their baby arrived.
