Family Session at Historic Oak View
This sweet family session at Historic Oak View County Park was such a joy — not only because the setting was beautiful, but also because the clients are colleagues and friends. Their two toddler boys gave us that perfect mix of energy and unpredictability that makes family sessions so fun. The warm fall light made everything glow. We moved at toddler pace (always the best pace!), letting them lead while capturing the in-between moments that feel the most real — the quick hugs, the hand-holding, the excited pointing, and the way parents instinctively follow their little ones with smiles.
Historic Oak View is one of my favorite places for family photos in the Raleigh area. The long tree-lined paths, open fields, historic buildings, and seasonal blooms create a backdrop that works in every direction — especially for toddlers who love to explore. It gives kids room to roam while still keeping everything close enough for natural, connected photos.
